What Can a PI do?

PI's are often hired or tasked with investigating various types of cases. Our job is to gather information, evidence, and intelligence on behalf of the client. PI work with individuals, law firms, corporations, and on the rare occasion; government agencies.

Private investigators in general can have a wide range of skills used to solve different types of cases. Our training includes how to conduct surveillance, gather evidence, interviewing witnesses, performing background checks, and OSINT investigations.

Private investigators can legally:

  1. Surveillance Investigations: PI's can conduct surveillance as long as they do not invade a person's privacy. The investigator must be in a public or quasi public location and from there they can document what is seen from that space. IE; the investigator can not trespass while gathering video or other evidence.
  2. Gather Information: Information from public sources such as court records, social media through OSINT methods and public databases.
  3. PI's can also conduct interviews with witnesses
  4. Perform due diligence – Private investigators can perform background checks on individuals. We can check criminal records, civil records, driving records, vehicle information, and on the rare occasion we can get authorization for credit reports.
  5. Service of process for court Documents: PI's are exempt and can serve court documents; subpoenas, summons, and other legal documents to individuals or businesses.

Pi's can legally conduct surveillance, gather information, perform background checks and use open source methods to document and report online activities. We can also serve most court documents.
